Getting organized

Keep business and personal money in separate accounts

2 min read

If your business income and your grocery run share one account, every transaction becomes a guessing game later. Open a dedicated business checking account and, if you use cards for expenses, a separate business card too.

Pay yourself on a regular schedule by transferring money from the business account to your personal one. That single transfer is easy to record and keeps your numbers honest.

Clean separation also makes it much easier to see whether the business is actually profitable, which is where your path to profit begins.
